Mt. Zion Lodge #74 met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. with NG Don Free presiding

Roll Call: taken with absentees noted…None

Reading of the Records: approved as amended Added Bob Finke under Balloting and changed date to March 9 for Use of Building Policy meeting

Sick and Distressed: Approved 2 weeks for Tammy Eichelberger and Carl Gladfelter; still no word from Becky Wagaman

Visiting Committee Report: none

Communications: Read and disposed of

 

Bills: in the amount of $2459.28 were approved on a motion by Dave Zutell and Charles Males

Balloting:

Degree work: Clark did initiatory degree work with Bros DeHoff, Chronister, Shiffer and Fink 3rd degree work is being offered on March 9.

Finance Committee: no report

Building Committee: It was stated a need to have some landscaping done as the ground is eroding away from the building.

Social Committee: Upcoming Events – Strawberry Fest, TBA; August 1 is the annual Chicken BBQ ; Sight & Sound to see Queen Esther will take place September 26 at 7 p.m., and a member’s appreciation night/ Ladies Night on October 23 will be held at the Vikings. It was brought up to change the BBQ to a Pig Roast to be held outdoors with yard games– horseshoes, badminton, croquet, etc., will vote at next meeting.

Unfinished Business: Meeting to update Use of the Building guidelines is March 9; will sponsor a basket for Garden Club of York which will be hung at the old IOOF building $250.00; Cost to change the outside sign to LED would be 960.00, will look into cost of getting a new sign. Approval was given to purchase a game for use when we set up a table at different events. Cost is around 82.95 and was approved on a motion by Dave Zutell and Rich Blankenship.

New Business: April 20 Laura Huchal, Grand Patriarch will visit our lodge. Jerry Seyler proposed giving $1000.00 for the PA Unified Session to be held between June 20–24, 2020. Clark seconded the motion. After discussion a vote was taken. Motion carried with 14 - 5 vote.

Receipts: in the amount of $271.15 were reported

Drawing: won by Richard Marks who was wearing a pin; $4.00 is credited toward dues

Good of the Order: Jim Keller will be cook for April.

Mt. Zion Lodge #74 met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. with NG Don Free presiding

Roll Call: there were 5 members present. B Fink, D Zutell, C Males, E Moreau and D Free…

Social Committee: On a motion by D Zutell and seconded by C Males it was approved to have a Pig Roast August 1. A 20x20 tent will be set up in a corner of the parking lot and outdoor games will be played New Business: It was proposed by C Males and seconded by B Fink to close the Lodge and not have meetings until May 1. This means no rentals will take place during this time. All those signed up have been notified. The motion was carried.

EMERGENCY MEETING Mt. Zion Lodge #74 met in an emergency meeting with NG Don Free presiding

Roll Call: there were 7 members present: C Fleegle. D Zutell, C Males, D Minot, C Rupert, S Thieret and D Free…

Reading of the Records: no report

Sick and Distressed: Sick Benefits were approved for Carl Gladfelter; Andy was on a bus when it hit the brakes and swerved. He fell out of the seat and flew to the front of the bus hurting his knee. He thinks rehab needs to be done.

New Business: A motion was made by S Thieret and seconded by D Zutell to contribute $2,000 to the MS Society The motion was carried.
A motion was made by Dave Z and seconded by Sam authorizing the Financial Secretary to pay bills, sick benefits, and donations as budgeted without Lodge meeting approvals until the end of June. Reports to be forwarded to the Nobel Grand and Treasurer. The motion was carried.
