Sick and Distressed: No benefits at this time
Bills – in the amount of $2629.46 were moved to accept by Don Free - 2nd Dave Minot. Approved
Financial secretary’s report for May 6 meeting is $6127.74 total April expenses. Approved
Communications: Consolidation of Bowmansdale and Lodge #1179 and York Springs Lodge #211 has been changed to Monday, June 3 at the Bowmansdale Lodge; Lady Rebekah Colfax Lodge #182 invited us to consider and evening at the Reading Fightin Phils for an Odd Fellows Night; Deadline for reservations ($10) is June 7. GM Wooden’s June schedule is now available.
Application for Membership: Jerry Seyler presented Dave Zutell’s swearing in and initiatory degree.
Interviewing Committee Report:
Finance Committee: Edward Jones gave a presentation before the evening’s meeting with suggestions for some changes to some of our investments. A quick finance committee meeting will be held following the evenings regular meeting before the Encampment meeting.
Building Committee: Work week will be held June 4 to 7 in afternoons starting around 12:30 until?? Holes in the yard were filled. Please notify the building if other areas or problems need to be addressed
Social Committee: Saturday June 15- Strawberry Festival ; August 3 is Chicken BBQ all at 6 pm
Old Business:
Tree has been planted; Discussed plaque options for tree garden- One option is a 5 x 7 sign costing between $35-$40. A committee – Sam Thieret, Rick Dibble, Don Free and Charles Males will offer suggestions on how best to proceed on this project. Game night had low attendance
New Business: West York Baseball is working on the interior of their building- legion season is beginning. Jerry is accepting orders for apparel. All our regalia, banners, etc needs to be inventoried, recorded and preserved.
Before our regular meeting a guest from Heritage Senior Center gave a presentation and requested a donation toward the construction of their new building in the Dover, Weigelstown, Shiloh area.

Good of the Order: Game night reminder will be sent to Ken to post on our web page; will also forward the minutes to him to be put under the Members Only Section that requires a password
Dinner for June is Lasagna and salad from Olive Garden

June 3rd,2019
Lodge opened in due form by NG Rick Dibble.Roll was called and absentees noted NG Dibble Fin Sec Seylor Treasurer Keller, VG Free, Chaplin Dick Marks in attendance. Opening ode sung pledge to the flag. None sick or in distress.
Bills in the amount of $1986.31. Properly moved and seconded the bills be paid. Motion carried. No communication.
Application from Dennis Hare received interview to be conducted after the meeting.
Bldg committee to have work during the week. Don Free gave the bldg committee report.
Next Saturday Strawberry festival June 15. Minutes of last meeting May 20, read approved.
Unfinished business, signs are waiting for permission from city to post.
Memorial plaque was discussed by NG Dibble. Pricing is yet to be determined. NG spoke regarding our attitudes and outlook toward our lodge. Dick Blankenship won the drawing.

Financial Secretary’s Report for month of May – Income - $6111.70; Expenses - $2945.36
Communications: Received a letter from a Tri-Town Competitive Cheerleader asking for a donation – will send a letter to her stating that we no longer support individuals. Reminder of the IOOF book that will be available for purchase – the information is on the bulletin board in the dining area.

Social Committee: Charles Males- Saturday June 15- Strawberry Festival had a nice turn out. Around 40 people enjoyed strawberries, shortcake, and ice cream; Date was changed to August10 for the Chicken BBQ at 6 pm

Communications: Secretary shared an email from Harry Howe on the status of the York Springs Lodge which is undergoing major repairs. Mt. Zion had given financial assistance to help them with their remodeling
Application for Membership: Jason Myers
Interviewing Committee Report: met with Jason, recommended he is fit for membership. A ballot vote was taken which was unaminous - Jason Myers was duly elected as a member
Finance Committee: No report
Building Committee: No report
Social Committee: Charles Males- reminded everyone of the upcoming chicken BBQ and Corn Roast on August 10 at 6 pm. Committee is working on future activities. Details to follow
Old Business: Jim Keller had attended the Unified Session and reported it was a very harmonious gathering. The new Grand Master David O. Whitlinger is from the Pittsburgh area. His pin- a mighty oak tree stressing deep roots was given to all members present at this evenings meeting. The 2020 Rose Parade theme is The Power of Hope. The Odd Fellow/ Rebekahs will have a float titled First Responders Bring Hope. Lodges were asked to consider making a donation to help defray costs.

Good of the Order: We batted around some ideas and some suggestions how we can get involved with preserving our environment. One suggestion was the use and waste of plastics, in particular, water bottles which we utilize here. Talked about bringing back the water fountain and what it would entail. Ed Moreau has offered a water dispenser that he has had in his woodworking shop and no longer utilizes. It is about 3 years old and offers ice water or room temp water. He was asked to bring it in and we will decide how to proceed from there.
Discussion was held on trying to make our lodge more cohesive. Different ideas were brought up, with no definitive answers- we were asked to think about some ideas and bring them to a meeting.

Reading of the Records of the last session approved after a correction on the Chicken BBQ date- should read August the 10, not the 1st.
Sick and Distressed: Robert Raffensberger- 1 week $50.00
Bills – in the amount of $4530.95 were approved with a motion by Jim Keller; 2nd Charles Males
Communications: Thank you from Heritage Senior Center for donation; a farewell from Sherman Wooden; a list of the 2019-2020 standing committees of the PA Lodges and our new Grand Master Whitlinger’s July schedule. See the secretary for any information on these communications.

Finance Committee: No financial reports at this meeting
Building Committee: July 21 work- Clean tables and chairs; new taps on chairs
Jerry will bring in a hose so the tree can be watered on a regular basis
A proposal was made to have a 4 x 6 sign placed outside with a nice plaque inside for memorials. The plaque would be retroactive from 2018. This action was approved on a motion by Andy Strausbaugh; 2nd by Charles Fleegle.
Social Committee: Committee is currently working on future activities.

New Business: NG Dibble stated that new members must view the Video of the Degrees before attending any meetings as stated on page 38 in the Charge Book.
Good of the Order: Discussion was held at our last meeting to come up with some ideas to help our membership be more cohesive. Don Free suggested that we consider involving ourselves in the Great Bed Race, put on by the Bell Socialization. He will provide more details. There is a $250.00 registration fee.

Finance Committee: No financial reports at this meeting
Building Committee: July 22- All the siding was washed; Problems– both outside spigots leak – both were repacked; a drain line was installed from the drip line of the air conditioner to the sump pump. Because of water laying on the floor over the years the chicken wire holding the insulation is rusted. This will need to be corrected.
-Several members worked on the upstairs sorting and documenting all items. Charles Males will check on getting storage containers that will protect the clothing. cleaned spouting; found a 170 year old IOOF sign, flag holders and flags designating different degrees
-August 8 will be a work day with cleaning and replacing the rubber leg caps and setting up for the Chicken BBQ. Another work day will be scheduled in the near future. Al Foster will check all of our safety equipment to ensure all is in operating order.
-Cost of a new water cooler is @$124 to $174 and a filtration system is about $93. To install a new water fountain cost would be in the $1600 range.
-The Bed Race is at Penn Park on August 4. Don plans to attend to get particulars for next year if we decide to proceed.
-Women’s Club would like to borrow a chair with arms so a member can attend their meetings.
Social Committee: August 10- Chicken BBQ at 6 pm
September 21- Rainbow Dinner Theater- Cost is $20. 00 each
October- (Date TBA) Wyndham Gardens

New Business: NG Dibble spoke on having our lodge doing more benevolent works since this has been the foundation of the Odd Fellows from its beginning. He talked about the possibility of having an end of ball season family picnic along with a possible fund raiser next year with the West York Athletic group. Dave said he will check with the others to see about the possibility of doing something like this.
Good of the Order: Jerry Seyler motioned and Clark Ruppert seconded to give a $5.00 credit toward dues to all members who helped with the clean up and do not serve on the building committee. Carried
